President Kathy Wons 5th District American Legion Auxiliary 2007 ~ 2009
As The Fifth District, we're very proud of what we've accomplished together over the years, working together within our Units and beyond. Last year alone, we reported more than 34,082 hours and raised more than $163,000 for our Programs, excelling in Veterans Affairs and Rehabilitation, Community Service, and Children and Youth. As The Fifth District, we've worked Membership. We've been proud to sit together as a District at Department Conventions, knowing that we did our best for Membership, each other and what we support. Our Goal this year is 1,050 - 62 over our goal last year of 988. In our "Race for Membership", we know we need to keep our "RPMs" (Renew and recruit Precious Members) running high, because we're challenged to not only achieve what we did last year (1,008) but to welcome 42 additional members to our American Legion Auxiliary. We know how important membership is to us and although we want to encourage as many active members as possible, because of our Membership, we are able to continue to support our very worthwhile Programs, as well as our Department of Texas, and subsequently, our National Organization. As the Fifth District, we have a lot to draw from “within” - our more experienced members and our newer members, all whose talents we recognize and use in the many ways we give our support. We've always challenged ourselves and worked with each other to find new ways to generate and maintain our enthusiasm and commitment to continue our work for our American Legion Family Programs. We are The American Legion Auxiliary and without each other, we simply can't be what we are, and do what we do. Thank you for the privilege of serving as your District President. As we continue to work and support each other in our Units and as a District, I wish all of you the very best of everything,
Kathy
